The 2024 coffee harvest in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, located in northern Colombia, has begun. This year, the harvest started earlier than expected, bringing fantastic news for the cooperatives in the region. Since August, our cooperatives have started collecting beans and opening their collection points, with the first batches already being sent to the mills for preparation for export.
At our sustainable processing plant, RioSierra, situated in Santa Marta, we are receiving parchment coffee from both the Northern region and other coffee-producing areas of Colombia. Our storage facility is nearly full, thanks to our differentiated milling service, which is supported by advanced technology and a strategic location just 10 minutes from the port of Santa Marta and four hours from the port of Cartagena—two of the three ports authorized for coffee export in Colombia.
In anticipation of the increased volume of coffee expected this season, we have begun efforts to expand our storage capacity and optimize the harvest flow.
